I'm also happy to work around your shift patterens or workplace rota's, school activities etc. The bottom line is if you're keen to learn then I will make every effort fit you into my teaching schedule.
ABOUT MY TEACHING
As well as being a professional guitarist I'm also a trained music teacher and qualiifed instrumental music facilitator (IMF). I have taught in schools, music colleges and on higher education courses and I've studied most modern music styles. I use this experience to form a student centered learning style. This basically means that I help you progress in your chosen styles on the guitar as opposed to you learning songs, styles or techniques that won't benefit you. In a nut shell, I teach the music you enjoy and we won't waste time learning music you're not enthusiastic about.
I teach all ages from children through to retired adults. You can never be too young or old to enjoy learning music. Above all else your lessons will be fun and productive.
You do NOT have to read music as there are many other ways to learn guitar without reading music. If you feel that learning to read music would be a benefit then we can cover that too.
FORMAL GUITAR EXAMS
If you're taking your guitar playing seriously then you could always focus on doing formal music exams called grades. Grades can be taken in modern music styles on electric, acoustic or bass guitars. I can help you achieve grades from debut (the easiest) right through to grade 8 (the highest acheivable). They are universally recognised qualifications for musicians and can help your educational and employment opportunities if you are serious about being a musician. I teach both the RGT and Rockschool grade syllabus.
